EMP counsellor Greetje Goossens has been nominated by the European Medicine Agency (EMA) as alternate observer at the Pharmacovigilance Working Party (PhVWP). As from May 2010, she will attend the meetings of the Working Party together with Albert van de Zeijden who has been selected as observer.
EMP is very pleased with this development. It puts EMP even more in a position to achieve its aims with respect to improving accessibility to safe medication. Greetje feels that being in a position to link the regulatory procedures with the reality of patients' care is a great opportunity.
Greetje writes:
'.......... it is an area were we can make a difference. Although the work is not very visible in the eyes of the big public, I really think it is very useful. This completely suits our initial goals..............''
We wish Greetje a fruitful co-operation with EMA.
