Financial Overview 2010

From a financial point of view, the year 2010 was very special for EMP.

It was in this year that EMP applied for the first time for funding from the industry.

EMP was supported by the European Myeloma Network (EMN = the MM physicians network) in its application efforts. They offered to apply for sponsor money on behalf of EMP.

As it turned out, however, EMN and EMP decided with all parties involved, that in order to be as transparent as possible, application directly from EMP to the industry (not via EMN) is preferred.

EMP has followed the European rules and regulations with respect to commercial funding strictly. EMPs policy in this is derived from the funding policy of ECPC, EMA and Eurordis.

In addition to industry funding, member organisations or individual members financed several expenditures of EMP directly or contributed by an annual grant.

-        Dom Digital financed: EMP web-site

-        European Hematology Association financed:
Part of the stand at the EHA conference

-        Most travel and hotel costs for conferences, workshops and symposia were directly granted by the promoting organisations.

-        Other travel costs and some PR materials were directly paid by our member organisations and by individual members.

EMP IS VERY GRATEFUL FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS.
